Waterworld

Long Run Rd. is under construction. You may have luck passing through on a Sunday, but otherwise you’ll likely have to reroute around via Little Dry Run River Rd., which will take you to the top of the mountain where Long Run, Little Dry Run and Rough Run intersect.

Rugged. Beautiful. Wild. Wonderful. Long climbs. Longer descents. One of the best rides around.

Once you crest the mountain range, things just open up. Everytime you take a break you will want to wander around, look for mushrooms, listen to the breeze and soak it in. The terrain really is wild and wonderful.

Be prepared to get your feet wet. There are several rivers to cross on this ride and if you time it after a rainstorm you will be waist deep in water at times. Leave your $400 shoes at home!

Bring a water filter and a day’s worth of snacks. There is a convenience store stop in Brandywine where you can pick up snacks and treats, but you’ll want to pack a solid lunch with you. I recommend a hearty sandwich.

40mm wide tires are preferred. The descents get hairy, rutted and chunky, so more cushion is better. There is a fair amount of pavement as well so save the knobbies for another day.
